Harriman moving to temporary offices as work on a new village hall begins
HARRIMAN — The Village of Harriman offices (clerk, treasurer, building inspector, court and mayor) will close at noon Wednesday, April 18, and remain closed Thursday and Friday, April 19 And 20.
These offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 23, at temporary facilities at 12 Church St. (Harriman School).
All this is a prelude to demolition of the current offices at One Church Street and then the construction of a new government center on the same footprint that would include village offices, court, building department and police department.
The project is expected to cost about $3.6 million and will be paid for through a combination of capital funds, a state grant and a bond.
"Hopefully, this will be complete in ten months," Mayor Stephen Welle said in an email exchange with The Photo News.
