CENTRAL VALLEY — On Wednesday afternoon, May 9, the Crusaders hosted the Dragons of Cornwall High School in a non-league match up.

The Crusaders entered the game with a 12-3 record on the season. They are currently on a three-game winning streak during which they have outscored their opponents 23-0.

The Crusaders scored in the bottom of the first when Samantha Ryan doubled to left and scored on Jessica O’Brien’s single.

The Crusaders added four more runs in the sixth inning, the big blow provided by Ryan who launched a two-strike pitch over the left field fence for a three-run homer.

With the Crusaders up 5-0 in the top of the seventh, the Dragons staged a three-run rally to make thing interesting.

The play of the day came during the Dragon rally as Crusader outfielders Ashley Scheck and Sarah Haglund ran into each other and then through the center field fence while holding the Dragon batter to triple.

The Crusaders' 5-3 victory brings their record to 13-3 on the season.
