Ollie Mae Scala, a 50-year resident of the area, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at her home in Monroe.

She was born July 18, 1919, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jarvis J. Fletcher and Lily Posey Fletcher.

She was the widow of Dominick A. Scala.

Ollie worked for the Department of The Interior in Washington, D.C., during World War II and was the food service manager of The Bronx High School of Science.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Monroe.

Survivors include her sons Ralph Scala and his wife Rebecca of Blooming Grove and Anthony Scala of Monroe; and her three grandchildren: Dean Anthony Scala, Ralph Scala Jr. and Franchesca Mae Scala.

The family would also like to thank Mrs. Scala's long-time friend and companion, Wendy DeMicco of Monroe, for all of her loving care and attention.

In addition to her loving husband Dominick, Ollie was predeceased by her daughter Theresa Louise Scala and her brother James Fletcher.

Visitation was held May 21 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 22 at Sacred Heart Church.

Interment followed in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.

Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church of Monroe.
